Festival of hair 2014

09 January 2014
Festivals are becoming the new, less styled catwalk without the stage but with extra music! From headliners to guests, festival style is crucial from clothes to hair to accessories; the festival is THE place to get spotted.

Performing at festivals is a major honour so you need to make sure you get the stage style right! Rihanna went for volume at T in the Park whereas Iggy Azelia rocked long loose waves for her set at Glastonbury. To create volume like Rihanna's, use The O at the top of the hair. For a more relaxed wave like Iggy, use the Waving Wand to curl the ends of the hair.

We’re loving the off duty looks from British models Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne which showcase the festival vibe. Cara’s addition of an on-trend baseball cap creates a cool edge to her loose waves. Suki opted for volume at the roots and wavy tips to create a distressed summer look. Both these looks can be created with the Micro Wand and a little bit of back-combing!

For shoulder length hair, Florence Welch shows exactly how to showcase the festival hair. This effortless look and quirky sunglasses oozes festival chic. To create a natural windswept look, wrap the front sections of hair around the Waving Wand so the hair is going away from the face. Add a big hat like Caroline Flack for extra festival glamour (or to hide the festival roots)!

Festival hair is complete with a floral accessory! Katherine Jenkins went for a floral headband alongside tumbling soft waves. Millie Mackintosh also opted for a big floral garland at Glastonbury Festival in June. We love Millie’s loose beach waves! To get a similar look to Millies, section your hair into a centre parting and blow-dry the front section for extra volume. To create the relaxed beach wave, use the Original Wand and wrap a section of hair round the wand. Allow the hair to drop into the palm of the hand and scrunch to set the curl. Repeat around the hair and to finish, tip your head upside down and shake to loosen the curls!

Although festival season is almost over, festival hair is easy to re-create with any of our electrical products, a hair accessory and loads of attitude!
